Convert glTF files to GLB directly in your browser. The converter parses the glTF mesh, rebuilds it in memory and writes it out as GLB, triangle for triangle. GLB can hold everything glTF carries, so nothing is dropped on the way. The two describe the same kind of mesh, so what changes is the container: glTF is a text file you can open in an editor, GLB is a single binary file. Nothing is uploaded, there is no file size limit beyond your computer's memory, and the result downloads instantly. GLB is the format web browsers, AR viewers and e-commerce platforms expect; one self-contained file with materials included.

How to convert glTF to GLB

  1. 1
    Drop your glTF file

Drag a .gltf file onto the box above or click to choose one. Only self-contained .gltf files (embedded buffers) can be imported here, because external .bin and texture files cannot be resolved in the browser.

  2. 2
    Check the preview

The model renders in 3D so you can confirm it loaded correctly. Dimensions, volume and triangle count are shown next to it; open edges are flagged if the mesh is not watertight.

  3. 3
    Download the GLB

Adjust the export options if needed and click download. Meshes without materials get a neutral gray PBR material so the file renders correctly in viewers.

What are glTF files?

glTF is the JSON form of the same Khronos standard as GLB. The .gltf file describes the scene as readable JSON; binary buffers and textures may be embedded as base64 or kept as separate files. It is convenient when you want to inspect or edit the scene description by hand.

What are GLB files?

GLB is the binary container for glTF 2.0, the "JPEG of 3D" maintained by the Khronos Group. A single .glb file bundles geometry, PBR materials, textures and animations, and is the standard format for 3D on the web and in AR viewers.
