Convert DAE to GLB
Convert DAE files to GLB in your browser. Free, no upload, no sign-up.
Convert DAE files to GLB directly in your browser. The converter parses the DAE mesh, rebuilds it in memory and writes it out as GLB, triangle for triangle. GLB can hold everything DAE carries, so nothing is dropped on the way. The two describe the same kind of mesh, so what changes is the container: DAE is a text file you can open in an editor, GLB is a single binary file. Nothing is uploaded, there is no file size limit beyond your computer's memory, and the result downloads instantly. GLB is the format web browsers, AR viewers and e-commerce platforms expect; one self-contained file with materials included.
How to convert DAE to GLB
- 1Drop your DAE file
Drag a .dae file onto the box above or click to choose one. Geometry and node transforms are read; external textures are ignored.
- 2Check the preview
The model renders in 3D so you can confirm it loaded correctly. Dimensions, volume and triangle count are shown next to it; open edges are flagged if the mesh is not watertight.
- 3Download the GLB
Adjust the export options if needed and click download. Meshes without materials get a neutral gray PBR material so the file renders correctly in viewers.
What are DAE files?
COLLADA (.dae) is an XML-based interchange format standardised by the Khronos Group in the 2000s. It was the default export of SketchUp and many older tools; today it has largely been replaced by glTF, but a lot of existing models are still distributed as .dae.
Commonly used by: SketchUp, Google Earth, older game pipelines, Blender

What are GLB files?
GLB is the binary container for glTF 2.0, the "JPEG of 3D" maintained by the Khronos Group. A single .glb file bundles geometry, PBR materials, textures and animations, and is the standard format for 3D on the web and in AR viewers.
Commonly used by: web viewers (three.js, model-viewer), AR on iOS and Android, Sketchfab, game engines
